Here on the Portfolio II page you can find five of my school projects that encompass the different elements of sound design. There were a total of five projects, each embodying a particular skillset required to produce valid results. From the beginning projects, the ideas of both downloading and recording sound sources were utilized to produced a set of sounds for things like health boosts, Power ups, buttons, and switches. Not only did it require the skills of locating and/or recording proper sound sources, it also required the skill of creating new sounds through the art of blending different sound sources together. Moving forward the ideas of recording, creating, and manipulating sound sources through synthesizer plugin tools were utilized to create infinite loops for environmental and structural elements such as volcanos and interstellar portals. 

 

I would like to add that all the sound sources for each project that is showcased below were mixed in pro tools and implemented into the gaming engine using the Wwise application.

The last project being showcased introduced the idea of sound manipulation through the uses of modulating effects and automation editing. As you will see in the video the use of these tools helped in creating a unique variation of sounds for the projectile weapon and the explosions the projectiles made upon impact.

Each school project being shown below was extremely fun to work on, but that doesn't mean it did not come with a fair share of difficulties. With each editing session, new roadblocks would appear that I had to fight through using the knowledge gained through each course taken up to this point. Luckily my journey at Full Sail has been very smooth due to the abundance of information given by each professor; one could say it's been smooth sailing through calm seas.
